PSC Operation – Propeller Shaft Clutch
The propeller shaft is coupled and uncoupled with the RENK PSC.
This can be done in 3 different ways.
- Manual (dis) coupling on site in the engine room by manual operation of the hydraulically assisted coupling with the gearbox
- Semi-automatic (dis) coupling in the engine room by manual operation of the hydraulically assisted coupling with the gearbox
- Fully automatic (dis) coupling from the control room by operating the hydraulically assisted coupling with the gearbox
PSC Functions
- Backlash-free transmission of the torque by means of hardened and ground teeth with a small conicity.
- Thrust transmission to the thrust block
Additional carrier bearings are not required
